Subject: Letter of Explanation

Dear Sir/ Madam,

I'm happy to introduce myself as Rita Sharma Sharma, the lovely daughter of Mr.Ram Bahadur Dahal and Mrs. Nita Sharma, who live permanently in Bahuni, 08 Bahuni, Morang, Nepal. I was born on August 28, 1998. I am very thankful to Alexander College for accepting me into my desired course, and I'm writing this letter of explanation to express why I want to pursue an Associate of Arts (Psychology) Degree at Alexander College in Canada.

I completed my Secondary Education Examination (S.E.E) from Shree Kanyan School in 2019 A.D., achieving a 2.25 CGPA out of 4. Afterwards, I started attending Shree Krishna Secondary School, where I eventually finished my high school education in 2021 AD with a 3.13 CGPA in the humanities. I am a student who believes that quality education and knowledge are just as important as commitment and hard work to become a successful person.

After completing high school, I decided to pursue further education in psychology because I wanted to start a career doing something I enjoy. I developed an interest in psychology when I was introduced to child psychology in the child development and learning course in high school. Then I started doing some research on the scope and application of psychology and found that psychology has broad applications in the modern world. I discovered that psychology could be used in clinical practice, school, Criminal and Forensic, and the corporate world. I then began looking into the prospect of studying psychology at the post-secondary level in my native country. However, I could not find an institution that met my academic aspirations. The education system in Nepal is still using the traditional approach to teaching. Even urban schools have not implemented contemporary pedagogies and technologies in the classroom. Academic institutions in Nepal continue to emphasize theoretical instruction and downplay the value of learning that can be applied practically. It's important for students to have the opportunity to learn new things through hands-on activities, case studies, group projects, independent research, and project work. However, no educational institution in Nepal has adopted a teaching style that satisfies the demands of the contemporary corporate world. I, therefore, decided to study abroad and began researching well-known study destinations like the USA, the UK, Canada, Australia, and some well-known European nations. I spent some time preparing for the IELTS test and took the IELTS test on May 28, 2022. I received an overall score of 6.0 (L = 6.0, R = 6.0, W = 6.5, and S = 6.0).

Following an extensive investigation, I discovered that Canada and Australia are two countries that satisfy my academic objectives due to their low tuition costs, emphasis on practical education, safe and welcoming study environments, and international reputation. Because of the warmer climate, I initially applied for a student visa to Australia, but my application was refused. Then, I decided to consider Canada as my destination for continuing my further education in Psychology. Canada's academic climate is friendlier and safer than the US and the UK. International students also like to study in European and Asian nations like Japan and Germany, but, as they are non-English speaking nations, the language barrier will make my academic and daily activities challenging. Although Nepal's cost system is less expensive than the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, and other European and Asian nations, the quality is radically below the global benchmark.

In addition to the top-notch education, students in Canada will benefit from a multicultural learning environment, internationally recognized degrees, and overall improvement that will give them a head start in their professions. In addition, I am eager to discover Canada's breathtaking scenery, which is adored by people all over the world. In addition to having internationally recognized credentials, I also want to make beautiful memories in Canada. In my opinion, the most fulfilling experiences in life may be found in Vancouver, Canada, at places like Stanley Park, Kitsilano Beach, the Museum of Anthropology, and many others.

While researching Canadian educational providers, I discovered Alexander College to be a rational option compared to similar course providers. By offering university transfer courses and degree programs that are accepted internationally, one-on-one support services, and campus activities that promote local and international community engagement, Alexander College works to provide excellence in higher education for students from various cultural backgrounds and linguistic proficiency levels. In a welcoming and supportive environment, the college offers the first two years of university study leading to an Associate degree and university transfer. On top of that, it has advanced, well-equipped teaching and learning facilities and allows students to get globally recognized education and skills. The college welcomes students from all different parts of the world, making a vibrant learning environment. On top of the tuition fee of Alexander College is comparatively more affordable than that of other universities and colleges located in British Columbia and Ontario. Hence, I decided to study at Alexander College, British Columbia, Canada.

The Associate of Arts (Psychology) Degree program provides a wide range of knowledge and experiences as a springboard for further undergraduate study or employment. As a student in the Associate of Arts program, I will broaden my knowledge in the arts, humanities, and social sciences faculties while honing my research and analytical abilities. The program offers a complete learning experience and also enables me to tailor my coursework to concentrate on a subject of personal interest. I can also explore different areas in psychology, including cognitive and abnormal psychology, data analysis, research methodology, and the scientific basis of human behaviour. Most importantly, the Associate of Arts (Psychology) will ensure a smooth transition to an advanced psychology course.  I will be able to understand Canadian study culture and environment before I move to university. I plan to specialize in educational psychology at university. Therefore, an Associate of Arts (Psychology) Degree will be a stepping stone for my university education.

After completing my education in Canada, I will return to my home nation because I have obligations to my family and my country. I'll use the knowledge and abilities I've picked up in Canada to better my family and nation. Nepal lacks experts in psychology because very few institutions offer education in psychology, and the current supply of psychology graduates does not meet the demand for psychologists in the job market. Psychology graduates have the option to work in the healthcare industry, education sector, corporate sectors, and crime investigation bureau. I plan to work as an educational psychologist in one of Nepal's prestigious schools or universities. In addition, I can work in government departments such as the ministry of education and the ministry of health and population as an expert psychologist. In the long run, I will work as a psychological consultant.

Family support is essential for a student, especially in a foreign country. My parents are financially stable and ready to offer financial support to help me obtain my desired degree. I feel delighted to be encouraged and supported fully by my parents regarding my decision to study in Canada. My parents have already paid CAD 17400 towards my tuition fees and secured an education loan of NPR. 35,00,000 (equivalent to CAD 36714.57) from Prabhu bank limited, Nepal. The loan amount will cover my remaining tuition fees and living expenses. If I need additional funding, my parents have the capacity to offer additional financial support because my parents earn an annual income of NPR. 27 59,998 from business and Land Leases.  Therefore, I am confident that I will not face any financial hardship while I study in Canada.

I want to assure you that I have no intention of prolonging my stay in Canada after acquiring the desired qualifications and skills. I will return to my home country and work for its betterment, giving a blissful life to my parents in their old age.

All of the information provided above is true, and I want to reassure you that, as an international student, I will abide by all rules and guidelines set by Canadian Government. I want to express my gratitude for your consideration and time. I sincerely hope that you will give me a chance to graduate from Alexander College, Vancouver, Canada.

Yours Sincerely,

………………………………..
